However, I believe that I now have an optimal setup with my Radeon HD 6320 graphics card and the open-source 'radeon' driver. I originally believed that this issue may have been caused by an improperly configured graphics adapter. The entire X session freezes until all of the text has scrolled through the window. The X11-based xfreerdp application becomes unusable when it renders a large amount of text to a window.
